WEB BASED VEHICLE AUCTIONING AND SALES MANAGEMENT SYSTEM


ABSTRACT

Despite the popularity among millions of users around the globe, selling, bidding for, and buying products using online auction websites and their existing literature provides little understanding of what causes users to choose one auction site over another. One way to examine this is to explore users’ satisfaction with auction websites. This project is centered on creating an online platform where people irrespective of their location can bid for a car set up for auction which will be delivered to them. Also a user can sell his or her car as well by putting it up for auction whereby other users can bid for it. The research methodology used in gathering information qualitative research methodology. This project work will be achieved with various web programming languages and modern web development framework. The advantage of the new system is providing real time market where customers can purchase and sale from the convenient of their house.


CHAPTER ONE

1.0 Introduction

1.1 Background Of Study

Despite the popularity among millions of users around the globe, selling, bidding for, and buying products using online auction websites and their existing literature provides little understanding of what causes users to choose one auction site over another. One way to examine this is to explore users’ satisfaction with auction websites.

This project is centered on creating an online platform where people irrespective of their location can bid for a car set up for auction which will be delivered to them. Also a user can sell his or her car as well by putting it up for auction whereby other users can bid for it.


1.2 Aims and Objectives Of Study

The major objectives of this project research is to develop an expert system for auctioning of cars is aimed at eliminating the problems of manual processing of auctioning vehicles with the following features:

  1. A web based platform where buyers all over the globe can access and place bids, saving bidders the stress of travelling.
  2. A secured platform to store the details of bidders.
  3. A news platform to keep the general public informed on auction date, time and products.
  4. E-transaction process for bidders to make their payment in real time.
  5. Users or clients can view ongoing bids and sold out vehicles.

1.3 Scope Of Study

This research work focuses absolutely on an open cry auction system, where the admin sets a stipulated price for vehicles to be auctioned and client's starts bidding over a certain period of time until a buyer is gotten. The research scope covers electronic marketing as well as electronic advertisement using modern web development technology.
