ACTIVITIES OF RESPIRATORY COMPLEX TWO ON THE LIVER OF NORMAL AND PROTEIN UNDERNOURISHED RAT FED WITH COCONUT OIL
ABSTRACT
In this attempt to investigate the effect the activities of respiratory complex II in the liver of normal and protein undernourished male weaning rats fed with diets containing coconut oil twenty rats were used. They were grouped into four (5 rats in each and fed with normal diets, low protein diets containing 5% casein, normal with coconut oil substituting to vegetable oil and low protein with coconut oilÂ).
After feeding for six weeks the rats were sacrificed using cervical dislocation. The liver was harvested and homogenized in iced cold buffer and centrifuged at 4000rpm for 15 minutes at 4oC. The pellets were discarded and the supernatant was stored. Further analysis explained later in this work was carried out on this supernatant. The result of this of this analysis showed a significant weight gain in the group fed with normal diet regarded as the control, while in the group fed with low protein diet contain 5% casein had a stunted growth. Thus the group containing coconut oil with the diets in their appropriate proportion experienced a little growth deficiency while a very drastic growth was noticed in the group fed with low protein with coconut oil.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can the material for “Fracture Mechanics Approach for the Maintenance of Offshore Oil and Gas Pipeline” be used as a guide for Science and Engineering Project?
Yes it can be used — Failure of offshore oil and gas pipelines occurs under certain conditions due to some applied mechanical forces. These conditions constitute a potential threat to the integrity of in-service life span of the pipelines which can lead to loss of resources and environmental pollution. Several studies have shown that pipelines fail as a result of Welding, Fatigue Crack Growth, Corrosion Fatigue, Stress Corrosion Cracking, and Erosion due to fluid flow. This paper presents a model by using fracture mechanics to analyze the allowable applied stresses an in service pipeline needs to withstand in minimizing crack growth. Furthermore, the crack size, crack shape and hole radius with pipe thickness will be modeled. The modeling results will be validated using experimental data. The implications …
Is the topic “Phytochemical and Mineral Composition in Vitro Antioxidant Activities of Watermelon Seeds” recommended for Biochemistry Project?
Yes it is highly recommended — Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) is a flowering plant species of the Cucurbitaceae family. It is a large berry whose swollen roundness and vibrant red flesh connote fertility and sexuality.
